KPK
KPK stands for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is a province in north-western Pakistan. The capital and largest city in the province is Peshawar. KPK is home to a diverse population of ethnic and linguistic groups, including Pashtuns, Pakhtuns, Hindkowans, Chitralis, and Tajiks. The province is bordered by Gilgit Baltistan to the northeast, Azad Kashmir to the east, Punjab and Balochistan to the south, and Afghanistan to the west and north. It has some of Pakistan’s most stunning mountain scenery, with the Hindu Kush, Karakuram, and Pamir mountain ranges and the Khyber Pass. The province is a major agricultural and tourist destination, with many historical sites, including the ancient Gandhara civilization ruins and the Khyber Pass.
KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) is the third largest province of Pakistan. It also borders Afghanistan to the west. The name of the province was changed to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2010.
The history of KPK goes back to the Vedic and Buddhist eras when its lands provided habitation to many of South Asia’s earliest settlers. These people, belonging to the Indo-Aryan and Mongoloid populations, were attracted to the province’s rich natural resources and moderate climate. Settlements appeared in the area even before the Achaemenid Empire of Persia invaded the region in 519 BC.
Much of the region was then incorporated into the rule of the Maurya Empire in 326 BC. Mauryan rule spanned for several centuries and during this time KPK was at its peak as a major trading post and center for merchants.
The region fell to the Kushan Empire in the first century and Islam eventually spread here in the 11th century. During Islamic rule, the region became significantly wealthy, as evidenced by the number of mosques, forts, and educational institutions that still stand in the region.
KPK saw heavy fighting during the Anglo-Afghan Wars and Mughal-Maratha Wars. After the Wars of Independence in 1857, the region was annexed to British Raj and the province was re-established in 1901 under the Government of India Act of 1895.
When the British left in 1947, the region became part of newly created Pakistan. The province has since experienced various phases of development and political turmoil, with intermittent periods of peace and stability,

Bonfire
Bonfire Night is a popular celebration that takes place in the United Kingdom on November 5th. It commemorates the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605, in which Guy Fawkes and other conspirators attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. The festivities include fireworks, bonfires, parades, processions, and firework displays. In recent years’ groups of volunteers have also been gathering to build humane Guy Fawkes effigies for theatrical burning. Other customs associated with the event involve an evening meal, the lighting of sparklers and a singing of the “Remember, Remember” rhyme.
